Terms of service.

01Acceptance

By creating an account, enrolling in a course, hiring the studio, joining the affiliate program, or using the public site in any meaningful way, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These terms apply to every person and every entity using the site — visitors, students, project clients, affiliates, and casual readers.

02What we provide

The aliyosef.online platform offers: a public site with engineering essays and a portfolio, free and paid online courses, a project-tracking system for buyers of studio services, a referral / affiliate program, and a newsletter.

Services are provided "as is" with reasonable care. We aim for high uptime and accurate content, but we cannot guarantee 100% availability or absence of errors. /status shows the current health and incident history.

03Your account responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. We hash it with Argon2id; you keep the original.

You are responsible for activity on your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, sign out from all sessions immediately (Account → Security → Sessions) and email [email protected].

One account per person. Sharing accounts violates these terms and may result in suspension.

04Acceptable use

You may not: use the platform for any illegal purpose, harass other users, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, scrape content for AI training, redistribute paid course material, or impersonate another person.

You may: link to any public page, quote our essays with attribution, share your own course progress and certificates publicly, and use the public API within its documented rate limits.

Rate limits: public endpoints 60/min/IP, contact form 5/min/IP, login 5/min/IP+username. Exceed them and your IP may be temporarily blocked.

05Intellectual property

All site content (essays, course material, code samples, illustrations, designs) is © Ali Haitham Yosef unless explicitly stated otherwise. Course content is licensed to enrolled students for personal learning use only — not for redistribution.

Content you submit (project files, support tickets, comments) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it back to you and to the people with whom you share it.

Open-source code we publish is governed by the licence in its repository (typically MIT). Those terms supersede these terms for that specific code.

06Payment + refunds

Paid courses: full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have completed less than 25% of the course material. After 25% or 14 days, refunds are case-by-case.

Studio service engagements: governed by the signed contract attached to the engagement. These terms supplement, do not replace, that contract.

Affiliate payouts: processed within 7 days of request, subject to a $50 minimum. We may withhold payouts on conversions later proven fraudulent.

All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. Local tax (VAT) is added at checkout where applicable.

07Termination

You may close your account at any time from /portal/student/account/danger. Account deletion is processed within 14 days; tax records are retained per accounting law.

We may suspend or close your account for: breach of these terms, fraudulent payment activity, attempted unauthorised access, or any use that endangers other users.

On account closure (by either side), access to paid course content ends. Certificates already issued remain yours.

08Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

Educational content is provided for learning purposes; following it does not guarantee any specific career or financial outcome.

09Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data, even if advised of the possibility.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced on /changelog and (for account holders) by email.

Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Syrian Arab Republic. Any dispute will be resolved in Damascus courts, except where the dispute concerns a buyer or affiliate based outside Syria — in which case the parties may agree to international arbitration in writing.
